Westlake Bush Park (previously named Horizon Drive Bushland)

Our Details and History

Since November 2007 the Horizon Bushcarers had focused on this 3.2 hectare site along Horizon Drive, opposite the Peter Lightfoot Oval.

The site, saved fom high density housing in 2007, is not only a well preserved forest remnant but had evidence of koala activity until the early 2000s.

The Horizon Bushcarers continued to operate for over a decade under the Brisbane City Council Habitat Brisbane program.  Sadly the bushcare group now longer operates but the site remains under management by Brisbane City Council’s Habitat Brisbane program.

Westlake Bush Park, located at 154 Horizon Drive, Middle Park, across the road from the Peter Lightfoot Oval, is a small but valuable bushland park and an asset for the local community.
